Instagram allows users to save as well as organise photos, videos, audio files and even places in a virtual space called Collections. This helps them to revisit the saved content that they found interesting at an earlier time. The usual way of saving content and referring to it later is by taking a screenshot. Instagram Collections essentially cuts the clutter so you don’t have to browse through scores of images to find what you need. At the same time, it ends up saving that precious storage space on a smartphone.
We tell you how to use Instagram Collections and quickly access your saved photos, videos, and songs, among other content.
How to save photos, audio and videos on Instagram
The quickest way to save any photo, video, audio or a post is by tapping the “save” icon (a little ribbon-like icon) that is present in the extreme right corner just below the post you are seeing on your feed. But it has a downside.
For example, if you want to save a funny song that you wish to use in a Reel in future, you tap the “save” icon and that song is automatically saved under the “Audio” category in Instagram Collection. The “Audio” category is a consolidated place where you get all the songs that you have saved since you started saving content.
You can either surf through those files or you can use the feature to save that particular funny song under a separate category. A long tap on the same “save” button brings the options/groups allowing you to either create a new category (let’s say “Funny songs for Reels”) or save it under a template that you have already created.
Similarly, you can also find all photos and videos under one umbrella or make separate category-wise groups to save yourself the hassle of browsing as well as finding a particular content for reference in future.
How to access saved photos, audio and videos on Instagram
In order to access saved photos, videos and audio on Instagram, tap your profile image at the bottom right. It will open your profile and now you head to the hamburger menu (three lines) on the top right of the page. Select “Saved” from the menu that slid up from the bottom and you can now see all the content that you have saved. You can also tap the ‘+’ button on the top right corner to make a new collection.
